Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions set out the agreement between you (the student) and Carolina (your Portuguese teacher). By booking lessons, you agree to the terms below.
1. Booking & Payment
Lessons must be booked in advance through the booking system or directly with me.
Payment is required in advance to confirm your booking.
Individual lessons and packages must be paid no later than 48 hours before the first lesson start date.
Package payments may have an expiry period, which will be communicated at the time of purchase.
2. Cancellations & Rescheduling
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full.
In the unlikely event that I need to cancel or reschedule, you will be offered an alternative time or a full refund for that lesson.
3. Lesson Policies
Standard lesson times are 50 minutes, unless otherwise stated in the package terms and conditions (e.g. practice lessons, children’s lessons).
Lessons begin and end at the scheduled time. If you are late, the lesson will still end at the original finish time.
If you are more than 10 minutes late to a 30-minute lesson, the lesson will be cancelled and charged in full.
If you are more than 15 minutes late to a 50-minute lesson, the lesson will be cancelled and charged in full.
If you do not attend your lesson without notice, it will be treated as a late cancellation and charged in full.
For children’s lessons, a parent or guardian must be present at the start of the lesson and available nearby throughout the session.
4. Materials & Resources
Materials shared during lessons (such as PDFs, vocabulary notes, or exercises) are for your personal use only and may not be distributed or reproduced for commercial purposes.
You may request personalised notes or exercises, which will be provided where appropriate.
5. Technical Issues
Students are responsible for ensuring they have a reliable internet connection and functioning equipment (camera, microphone, etc.).
If technical issues on the student’s side prevent the lesson from taking place, the lesson will not be refunded.
If technical issues on my side prevent the lesson from taking place, the lesson will be rescheduled at no extra cost.
6. Refunds
Refunds are only offered in exceptional cases and at my discretion.
Lessons or packages already started are non-refundable.
7. Code of Conduct
Lessons must be conducted in a respectful and professional manner by both teacher and student.
Inappropriate or offensive behaviour will result in the immediate termination of lessons without refund.
8. Data Protection
Your personal details (name, email, contact information) are kept confidential and used only for lesson scheduling, communication, and invoicing.
I will not share your details with third parties without your consent.
By booking lessons, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
